Laurentians Fall Retreat

We gather for some reflection, hike the Torah trail and explore the spoken word through storytelling.

Join Rabbi Adina Lewittes and Batia Winer for a weekend Fall retreat int he heart of the Laurentians where we will cultivate a practice of Hope.

Simchat Torah heralds the arrival of Autumn. The harvest is complete, the leaves are turning color and falling, temperatures are cooling, the days are shorter, and the nights are longer. Fall is when Nature's cycle of impermanence, of life and death is most striking. Autumn is also reflected in the transitions we experience in our own lives: we begin to layer up, wear warmer clothing, change our menu to slightly heavier foods, and balance the effects of light and dark inside and outside of ourselves. With this state of change and impermanence can come a tremendous sense of renewal and hope. And at this time of sadness and despair in Israel and throughout the Jewish world, cultivating a practice of hope could not be more urgent.
